Our Managing Director Dr.Jasmeet Singh is a renowned Veterinarian throughout the country having vast experience of 10 years in the field of Veterinary Surgery as Consultant Surgeon at Dog Care Centre, Bhubaneswar and Allahabad since 2007.

Dr. Jasmeet Singh was born on March 28, 1983 at R.S.Pura near Indo-Pak border, Dist. Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir. After secondary level education at his native town, he obtained B.V.Sc. & AH in 2007 from OUAT, Bhubaneswar and M.V.Sc. in 2009 and Ph.D. with Gold Medal in 2012 from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly (U.P.). Immediately after his Ph.D., he joined as Assistant Professor in Department of Veterinary Surgery & Radiology at OUAT, Bhubaneswar in August 2012.

Dr Jasmeet Singh has been the recipient of several honours and awards such as Excellent Academic Performance by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India (2011), Outstanding Clinician Award (2012) by Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Appreciation award by ISACP (2006, 2011 and 2012), APHVS (2006 and 2009), AIZWV (2007), IVRI (2010 and 2011),  ISVS (2007 and 2009). Besides this he has also been awarded with Best research article award by INTAS (2012), Appreciation Certificate for Anaesthesiology by ISVS (2012 and 2016) and ISVS Gold medal Award in 2013 and 2014 for his contribution to surgical operation in birds and snakes.

Dr. Jasmeet Singh has guided 06 M.V.Sc. students for Research programme in field of Canine Anaesthesia, Oncology, Otolaryngology etc. Besides these, he has also been advisory board member for Crocodile project run by Govt. of Chhattisgarh. He has been a prolific research worker with specialization in ‘Molecular Orthopaedics’ and ‘General Anaesthesia in Buffaloes’. He has published more than 50 research papers in national & international Journals and presented 100 papers in conferences/symposia.  He has also published different manuals in the subject of General Veterinary Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Diagnostic Imaging, Pet animal Healthcare, Zoo/wild animal Healthcare and Tuberculosis in wild animals.

 

The main area of research of Dr. Jasmeet Singh has been on anaesthesia and pain relief in animals. He has made outstanding contributions in developing various surgical and analgesic techniques including acupuncture for early restoration of health condition in various species of animals for which he has also been awarded Gold Medal (2010) by Uttar Pradesh Chapter of Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery for research work on electroacupuncture therapy for rehabilitation of companion animals.

During his professional career he has served at various National and International levels as National Coordinator of Association of Zoo & Wildlife Veterinarians (2011), Editorial Board Member of Indian Wildlife Yearbook (2009 and 2010), Reviewer for Indian Pet Journal (2012). He has also been Expert Panel Member of BMC for ‘Animal Birth Control Programme’.

 

Dr. Jasmeet Singh has been an active participant and resource person for advanced training in wildlife like Training of trainers on advancement of elephant healthcare and managerial practices (2009) and IFAW-WTI Emergency Relief Network’s Disaster Relief Training (2013). He has also been credited to have performed very rare surgeries in Pythons, bear, tiger, lion, zebra, chimpanzee and deadly cobra snakes.

He started learning Small animal practice under guidance of esteemed Canine Practitioner Prof. S.K. Ray, Dog Care Centre, Bhubaneswar right from his undergraduation days. After completion of Doctorate degree in Veterinary Surgery & Radiology, he again started his small animal practice in 2012 under the aegis of Dog Care Centre, Bhubaneswar and continued to do so till February, 2015. He has made exemplary contributions in field of veterinary surgery in Orissa by successful surgical interventions in various species like dogs, cats,  exotic birds, horses, cattle and numerous wild animal species including small sized snakes to massively large sized pythons.

 

Later on, Dr. Singh was selected as Scientist in Wildlife Health & Forensic Centre under aegis of Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya, Durg, Chhattisgarh where he holds responsibility for healthcare of wild animals of entire state of Chhattisgarh.

Additionally, he runs a Small animal clinic ‘Dog Care Centre’ in Nehru Nagar, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh since August, 2015 and rendering valuable services to pet as well as exotic animals. The clinic is destined to provide excellent healthcare facilities to pet animals which will prove to be fruitful for the betterment of health of pet animals of Durg-Bhilai region.
